The SCO corperation and its shareholders have filed a lawsuit against the publishers of Linux Journal.
They have issued the following statement...
"We have held a private poll with similar categories and many of the results are the same as that of the linux journal readers. Obviously somebody has access to our internal preference results (IPR) and are reproducing our preferences without permission. These opinions are solely owned by SCO corperation, however, we have kindly agreed to allow members of the linux community to share our opinions provided they send us $699 (increasing to $1099 after 2 weeks)."

Now im all for this non-violent, direct action stuff, but if Linus and Alan are going to around defacing patents, im not sure i understand the relevance of 'EU Parliament'.
Perhaps it would be better to stick with the classics, "Linux and Alan woz ere" or "Linux rules OK?" for example.
That only really works if everyone moves together which, lets face it, is pretty unlikely.
MS knows that it can simply change the default 'save as' type in the MS Office suite to a 'DRM-Enabled' one to cause some serious problems for everyone who doesnt pay their tax.
You are going to have to talk/type real fast to explain to J. User the benefits of Linux before they get chance to click on the "Click ok to install the patch required to view this document" dialog. And guess what? Once the patch is installed..... its no longer a problem for Mr/Mrs/Miss User.
Although the west assures the world that butterfly aircraft will be used for exploritory purposes, iraq believes that the butterflies will be used for offensive purposes...
They have responded by ordering several large nets.
having a poor memory significantly shortens your life span, or make you signnificantly more attractive to the opposite sex, then this is not a darwinian natural selection process....
So i would say unfounded.

"Users are reminded that it is againt company policy to chisel your password into a stone tablet... failure to respect this rule will result in prompt ejection from the cave"
Do you think that your comment was a 'little' exagerated?
You can threaten P2P client development companies with legal action...
You can pass laws allowing intrusion into PC's and removal of copyrighted material
But it is simple as this... If something exists in digital form, it will be cracked and copied across the internet... there is NO way to prevent it (and copyright holders and software companies have been trying for many many years).
All you can do is find a new business model to make money from music and other digital media without relying directly on records sales.... so stop whining and get on with it!!
People download music because CD's are over-priced.
The record companies lose money so start charging more for CD's
People download even more music.
This circle is set to continue unless record companies start pricing CD's realistically. If AOL/Compuserv/Freeserve can give away CD's in shops and with hardware then why do i have to pay £20 for a music CD?
...are the artists. The record companies deserve to lose out after the way prices have been hiked in the interests of profit, but the artists really are the victims here. Perhaps someone should set up a system where the artist is payed directly when their song is downloaded.

Going well then?
Actually, i think XP ships with the quick launch bar off by default. If so, right click anywhere on task bar, properties, toolbars, quick launch.
Now there is a nice place next to your start button for you 'every day' applications.

Clever folks at Redmond huh?
If the RIAA use these tactics the solution is simple...
Wait a few months until the RIAA's trojanized files are well and truely spread throughout the P2P networks...
then use the thousands of trojanized nodes to DDOS the RIAA
*chuckle*

I would have said this is a little bit of an exageration...

Evan has since decided to terminate his employment with Alcatel. But a court has ruled that his head must remain until the patent on it expires.

There seems to be a lot of talk about internet enabled devices in cars...
I can see it now... tangled CAT-5 cables on every freeway!
Redmond Linux Corp? I Smell a .rat!
Actually, Freeserve in the UK doesnt charge for access either. We dont have free local calls in the UK so there are alot of free ISP's instead.
Record companies make money from tours and promotions etc too but they are still over pricing CD's. Its just plain greed!
