Bull! You are wrong on all counts. Remind not to invest in your e-business!
1) There are cetain items for which this is important but many for which it is not. I would never buy cars, or furniture, or groceries off the net. But one book, or CD, or video is just like all the countless others. I don't need to touch it.
2) I don't want to be face-to-face with a pimply clerk who doesn't know anything about the products in the store. I know what I want. Send it to me.
3) Shipping takes time, but so what? If I need the item immediately, I may head out to the store for it, but usually I can get it shipped quicker than finding time to head out to the mall.
4) $4 is chicken feed. It's worth the $4 to not have to fight traffic to get to the store, fight for parking, fight the crowds, fight the line at the register, and then deal with a cashier who wouldn't know how to make change if their life depended upon it. And I'd rather pay the shipping fee than sales tax -- principal of the thing.
5) Total bull. I've had cash stolen and it was gone. I've had credit crads stolen and it cost me not a cent. Cards are much more secure than cash and everyone I know uses them much more than cash.
Methinks you need to get a little more experience with the real world before making statements you obviously know nothing about.
... an operating system that won't let its user do what they want, but let's hackers have free will?
growling,
bear
