  1. 75GB IBM drive on IBM DeskStar 75GXP Hard Drive Failures? · · Score: 2, Insightful

I got a 75GB drive of the same model from IBM sometime in May. A couple of weeks ago I started seeing the same things. The drive started making weird noises and needed a long time to access data. IBM currently has the drive but from the sound of it getting it back will only help me in the short term.

  2. Tampons love their cottage cheese... on Tampa's Cameras Not Just For The Superbowl · · Score: 1

I happen to have the (mis?)fortune of living in Tampa at the moment, and as the law abiding kind of person that I am I always strive to stay perfectly legal.

    Except....

Well, this is kind of hard to talk about, but as all the residents of Tampa(Tamponians? Tampons?) know it illegal to eat cottage chesse in the city after 6PM on Sunday. And though, try as I might, I just find it impossible not to inguldge on my favorite of the Cheeses on the traditional day of rest.

This new policy of watching my every movment as me worried as I strole through Historic Ybor City on a Sunday's eve with a large pot of Cottage Cheese and a few Ritz Crackers. I now find myself constentlly checking over my shoulder, afraid that I may be jumped by one of the vicious law keeping forces that normally only strive to ensure my safety.

This kind of thing must stop. If and end is not met soon I will die of a heart-attack long before my abnormally high cholesteral would have naturally killed my of.

If I wanted to use Mandrake and pay the devolopers $80 for their time and efforrt I could head on down to the neasrest CompUSA, pay them $80 and get a nice enviromently-unfriendly box. Though, in the end I would be supprised if even 20 of those 80 dollars acutlly made it back to Mandrake. The rest would be distributed between the retail store, shipping, and boxing. Not to mention the cost Mandrake has to spend on burining discs, printing manuals, and putting it all into the box.

However, with the same $80 I could download an ISO, burn it to a disk, read some online documentation, and rest easy in the knowledge that *all* of my hard-earned money is in the hands of the people I truly want to support.
