    That'd be sweet, but unfortunatley the classrooms we run have systems that quad boot Solaris, NT 4 Workstation, NT 4 Server, and 2000 Pro. I'd love to get one of these (for MYSELF) with the SunPCI card....

    For one It's ALOT cheaper (in terms of buying hardware) to train people to use solaris on an x86 than it is on a SPARC.

    The "update" link to infoworld is over a year old and refers to an email (OUTLOOK) spread virus that infects .swf files. People really should check out links before they post them.

  7. What's the big deal with using NAT?? on VPN Clients Not Allowed On Residential Service · · Score: 1

    The cable modems are set up to limit your up/down pipe anyway, so why should the service provider care how many systems you have NAT'd behind it, your single acces point (the cable modem) is still going to only allow what they've set for your bandwidth. Either there are some very stupid people working at the service providers or they're blatently trying to squeeze the extra $$'s from subscribers. Oh, btw COMCAST, the next time authorized-scan1.security.home.net scans looking for my FTP server, don't be surprised that you can't find my box.

    IF he has an AMD 761 Chipset try compiling the 2.4.10 kernel, I couldn't get my radeon to work in anything but FB mode until they released the new kernel with WORKING agpgart support for the 761, runs like a dream now :)

    Downloaded linux-2.4.10.tar.bz2 from ftp.kernel.org, imagine my surprise when I tar'd it out it was really 2.4.9, someone make a boo-boo? the tar.gz is good though :>
    props to the kernel team for the AMD761 support, works great :)
