Big slow fans, not small fast fans

I had a pair of tiny (1.5" or so) fans in removable drive trays. I didn't think they made that much noise. After pulling them out, I spent about a week wondering if my machine had powered down whenever I walked into the room. Those suckers were probably more than half the noise of the case.

  2. Re:XP not an issue on Post-mortem of a DOS Attack · · Score: 1

Exactly. There are NDIS samples and web pages about how to make them work. Any decent Windows coder could probably get this working in a month or two. I'm suprised nobody's done it yet. Read Microsoft's response to Steve. That's why they don't see the new stack code in 2000 and XP as a big deal, as far as spoofing and SYN floods. They know it's easy to do on 95/98/ME/NT by bypassing the stack.

Poulsen was involved in a scheme that blocked callers from a radio station contest line, except for lines belonging to him and two others. I believe they won a Porsche. Heck, I have the case around here somewhere (my lawyer cited it in my case.)

Here it is. It's an appeal ruling for another guy, Justin Peterson. But it metions Poulson and Ronald Austin winning at least two Porsches, $30,000 cash, and two trips to Hawaii. Sweet. I hope they got to enjoy it for a bit before their lives got completely fucked by the bust.

    I love the portable version.

For a long time my dad had my old AM/FM receiver from my Mustang wired up in his garage, feeding speakers still mounted inside a pair of ancient transistor radios. If he had owned any tapes other than 8-tracks, he probably would have wired in the old Vic-20 tape drive too.

It's about time. If a company doesn't use it's own products internally, that's got to be a big red flag. That's one area where I've got to give Microsoft credit. If you wandered the halls of RedHat, how many Windows machines do you think you'd see?

But they're in for trouble. Everyone I know that uses AOL has problems with attachments. Good luck being productive without attachments.
