That is completly and totaly incorrect. Most metoers that hit the earth are iron or magnesium sillicate (Often called "rock" on earth) Nickle is a fairly rare element, when you think about it on the cosmic scale. I am not going to go into heavy element formation in Asmyptotic Giant Branch stars but lets just say iron is by far more common than nickle.
