  1. Re:Umm.. storage? on Napster Spurs CD Sales; Gets Sued Again Anyway · · Score: 1

That depends on what you call CD-Quality. Personally, I can listen to my 192kbps and VBR0 MP3s and I hear CD-Quality audio. The human ear isn't perfect, so distinguishing between CDs and good MP3s is near impossible.

Umm...yeah. To my knowledge, Napster isn't making any money off of this at all. If memory serves, Napster was just a software application written by a bright young programmer for fun. Wasn't he from a European country? Anyway, your statement makes absolutely no sense. Napster isn't taking the KerChing away from poor people's food stamps or weekly allowance, it's helping sell CDs and helping spread musicians' works to people who may not have otherwise been exposed to them. I myself have bought CDs because I downloaded songs from Napster and/or other MP3 sources and I liked what I heard. I ripped all of my good CDs to MP3s so that I could hear them all in a Random sorted playlist. But, I'm straying from the subject of greedy organizations picking on intelligent young people, so I'll conclude now.
