I'm one of the Swarmbot developper. I have been in charge of porting Linux to the motherboard of thwe s-bot as well as writing its system software. Let's have some interesting data about the s-bot:
9 degrees of freedom (2 wheels, turret rotation, elevation of gripper (can lift another s-bot), gripper (have 1.5 kg of pressure), mobile arm (3 dof), mobile gripper)

Seriously, I'm a Swiss citizen and I'm very happy
about the law that allows reverse engeneering.
I'm also convinced it is good for scientific
and economic development, because it allows
competition between products and disallow
monopolist positions.
I had to use UML for a software design cours at EPFL
(Swiss federal Insititue of Technology).
We where 5 in the project.
We never finished this stupid project, and we turned
it to a constructive critic of UML, and this is the point :
Never try to modelise ALL the stuff with UML, having
ACM (Analysis class Model) for big structure is fine,
although a draw with less formalism can do the job,
but going into every implementation details with UML is useless.
We also used OCL : the Object Constraint Language, which is absolute evil (and absolute stupidity), and that was catastrophic.
I think that in vaste project UML can be ok for interfaces
but NOT for core logic of program.
If your programers can't do without UML, change your
programers, because it's that they have turned into bad managers.
If you have good interfaces and people that know
their work, you can leave UML, spare a lot of time and money, and be happy.
Just a last note : we used Together as the UML tool,
which is the only program that have more bug in itself
that all Kro$oft programs together...
Adobe should perhaps not doing intellectual terrorism, otherwise somone could try to look how secure their webserver are, or things like that...

I know it is out of topic but this is an interesting question.
The problemn is that the basic idea of the theories of communism where to increase to life quality of people, although real world experiences aren't exactly that. But the theory behind megacoorporation are making a lot of profit for a few people, and using all possible legal ways to do it (and perhaps illegal); so this IS a big difference.
Actually 150 world biggest coorporation makes more money that the (Brut interior product) that all nations in the world !!
So the capitalism is going to live for itself, letting the humanity behind, but sucking its bolld until death.
So, we are really in a very bad position...
Free Software is good for humanity, but threatend by coorporations, so we must do as much as we can to protect it and protect the freedom of the humanity from an ill system that is going to destroy it.
