    Yes, CO2 isn't pollution because some idiots say it is, neither is it not pollution because of other idiots saying it's not.. It's pollution because the definition of pollution is anything introduced into the environment which has adverse effects.

    Even if almost everyone didn't already have unlimited calls, how many robocalls would you need to get before it would make any impact on your minuts. It takes a few seconds to figure out it's a robocall and hangup.

    That all sounds deterministic though, and so not free will. Of course there's nothing magical about what is usually called free will, but that's why I think free will is just an illusion.

    How do you code "free will" into a simulation? Decisions can either be made through some deterministic algorithm, or randomly. What would free will be?

    My understanding is that this only applies to locked bootloaders. Unlocked devices can still run whatever code you want.

    The phone can still boot into a limited recovery mode, just not a normal boot.

    I just replaced a 15 year old Magia desktop with one of these too. The Magia system was mostly being used as a media system but that usage was obviated with a $30 Chromecast. I just wanted something small and silent to replace the old system. I mostly use it as a headless system, but I do have it hooked up to my tv for occasional retro gaming.

    The drivers are the problem, not the cars. The autopilot is intended as backup in case the drivers make a mistake, but the driver is still primarily responsible for their inattention

    Those rating systems aren't meant to be enforced, they're just advisory. I can say from my experience growing up that at least some parents used them.

    That said, this idea is terrible.

    They can still save money by buying a base model that happens to have more storage. The memory itself costs a few bucks, it's not going to make a real difference to the cost of the phone.

    You get gouged if you want to upgrade the storage on your device. Setting a low amount of storage on the base model forces people to spend an extra $100 or more to get a usable amount. It's just a marketing trick to make the price of the phone look lower than it really is.

    Increasing the storage on the base model isn't price gouging, having an unreasonable amount of storage on the base model and then forcing everyone to pay $100 for an extra 16GB to make the phone usable is how they gouge you.

    I'm sorry, but you're opinion is pretty unhelpful. Just because there are some people that can waste any amount of storage their phone has doesn't mean that everyone who needs more than 8GB is being wasteful. That's just nonsense. Maybe more storage isn't always the answer, but it's certainly more likely to be the answer than less is. And people getting more storage isn't going to make anyone else's life miserable, so not sure what that's about.

    That may be true, but a reasonable person with a not extraordinary amount of apps, photos, and music can fill up a 16GB phone pretty easily these days.

    Thinking you know something and actually knowing something with evidence to back it up are totally different things. There are plenty of things people feel to be true which are found to be wrong once given a closer look.
