I am going through this right now and am using and have used all the above mentioned solution. We are leaning towards System Center Operation Manager. http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/operationsmanager/en/us/default.aspx If you had told me 6 months about that it would be the way to go, I would have said over my dead body, but it has come a very long way in terms of usability and ease of setup.
I once had to talk to my wife's 7th Grade Class, take in a PC and tear it apart and put it back together for them, or just put a PC together depending on how much time you have. You'll have them spell bound. I describe putting a PC together as the same process as putting a puzzle together. May sure you preload your favorite Linux distro before and so it will boot right up, one hopes when your done.
Be sure to keep it simply as they have as much understand of what you truly do as your average CIO but you'll get more respect and be a god among men to these kids.
Perfect Dark Zero locked up for me during the first mission and I got a funky error message and got kicked out of PGR3 with it claiming my disk was the wrong region. Not a real good first impression!

Talked with Microsoft. Got a bad PDZ disk. The PGR3 is a known issue. Come-on people we should all know this about Microsoft by now.
