Regarding: Katz's 'quoting of a criminal'... with which Sun Guy is concerned. With all do respect, what does the fact that Ted Kaczynski has been convicted of breaking our relatively arbitrary laws have to do with the validity or invalidity of his critique of modern American culture. In a word, nothing. (See Intro. to Logic at a JC near you). Whether or not we agree with him, several of his observations are very interesting & ought to be seriously considered. This is not to say that catastrophists like he or Bill Joy need to be taken all that seriously, but/. & other such independent outlets should surely attempt to remain places where unbounded thought & perspective are welcome. I say, what the hell. Let's see how far we can take it all. Caution be damned. This species, like all others, is on a one-way ticket to extinction anyway. May as well make it interesting & evolutionary...
