A piece of our display weighing in at over 400 pounds fell on the canoe box on the way home. The trailer blew a tire and sent it all over the place and a piece of the display slammed into the box. It crushed the box and put a mere 1/2" dent into the canoe at the gunwale. You would be amazed and the beating it can take. I am not sure about roads either but I know I beat it to death during the races and it held to together without a scratch.
