You are indeed correct, the tutorials aren't free anymore. The excessive download rates versus the actual shareware fees received caused the original site to close down for nearly two years. The cost of bandwidth was prohibitive to keeping the tutorials alive back then. The site was operating at a serious loss.
As I "inherited" the tutorial suite this year, I decided to once again offer the tutorials online. Having done extensive research into the venture I quickly became aware of the popularity the tutorials had once enjoyed.
The cost of the tutorials today is the same as originally requested. Revenues allow me to host the site and pass a profit along to my father, Gordon Dodrill. Although he is nearing retirement, he plans to stay in the mix, update the existing tutorials, develop further example programs and write a few projects he has put off for years now.
He is excited about my having revived Coronado Enterprises and looks forward to working with me in the years to come. I'm glad to see him active in the online programming community once again, and enjoy working with him as a father/daughter team. Can't beat that!
