  1. Ogg Sharing, don't think so... on Who'll Be Using Ogg Vorbis Instead Of MP3? · · Score: 1

I seriously doubt that any of my friends will be switching to ogg (or anything else) any time soon, and what's the point of converting to ogg if I can't share ogg files with my friends?

  2. More comprehensive on What Makes You "High Risk" For SPAM? · · Score: 3

I actually tested this more comprehensively by sending all the email I got at my domain to one inbox, and using nameofdomain@mydomain.com to figure out where the spam was coming from. I was surprised that I didn't get any from my Slashdot account despit people's paranoia about it here. The biggest culprit was a single newsgroup posting that I made, netting me over 140 spam messages.

  3. Distributed AIM on AOL May Open Instant Messaging To Other Servers · · Score: 1

Sweet! Does this mean that I will be able to use my AIM Client through a freenet server? Or maybe I don't want an extra 15 minutes between my messages and responses, it's already long enough as it is...

  4. Hmm, what's new? on Google To Gain a Rival? · · Score: 1

This seems like the first of what might be many google knockoffs... I don't really see anything different, and I actually like the less cluttered look that google gives you on the search results page. Also, when I did a search for "Swing Plugin" (no quotes in the search) on both, google gave me a link to the java.sun.com homepage (which I wanted) and teoma gave me a link to a BBS posting, and I absolutely despise getting a BBS when I search for information, they are only useful about 25% of the time. I think I'll stick with google.

  5. Woohoo! on The Great .us Giveaway · · Score: 1

Yet another top level domain that is only good because it can be construed into a word... I've had just about enough of come.to, jump.to, run.to, climb.to, and all that, we don't need pay.us, love.us, hate.us, pleasedontshoot.us. If you wan't to have a domain name that someone is actually going to buy a web site for, you should stick to .web and .xxx.
