I had SiruisXM service and eventually had to cancel it due to the poor sound quality. As they added more channels, they had to increase the compression on the existing channels to make room. After a while the music channels began to have the tinny quality of AM radio. It was intolerable. I've never been able to figure out why more people don't seem to be bothered by the inferior audio quality. When FM radio begins to have a richer, more satisfying audio quality than subscription radio, then the value of satellite radio becomes dubious. This is the reason I canceled, and one of the other reasons I don't see them lasting.
So, apparently Sci-Fi vs. Fantasy boils down to whether or not a game can come up with a believable and convincing way to kill.
My first thought? Why do all games have to contain murder? How about coming up with an online RPG that doesn't include hacking, shooting, maiming, or some other form of relieving another being of life?
I had the surgery about 8 months ago. I have 20/15 vision in both eyes now, and contrary to what some people have said, my night vision is fantastic. I couldn't be happier.
Even staring at a computer all day and half the night doesn't bother me.
About my only minor complaint, is that my eyes get a little dry, and I have to carry wetting drops with me. I understand that about a year post surgery, this goes away, and after 8 months, I need the drops less and less often.
I would highly recommend it. Just make sure you see a reputable doctor, and talk to some of his/her previous patients. That's what I did, and they were all quite happy.
The problem is that the cable companies are telling you what you can and can not do with your connection. They should not be allowed to do this to anyone, for any reason.
The appropriate thing to do would be to set tiers of bandwidth usage. If you use more than X amount of bandwidth then you fall into a business class category and your rate goes up.
Internet usage is about freedom, or should be. I don't have a problem being charged more for using more bandwidth, but I don't think it is appropriate for anyone to tell you HOW to use the bandwidth.
I have Charter Cable, and over the weekend they switched us from @home to Pipeline.
I was pleased that there was no service interruption, just a phone message telling me to reboot my computer and cable modem so that they would update to the new information.
So far, however, the new service is EXTREMELY slow. There are times when I feel like I'm back using dialup. I have been trying to call their tech support line to ask about the speed problems, but naturally I can't get through. Just busy signals.
I hope they get this worked out, I have had a cable modem for 3 years now, and I have gotten quite used to it. Since DSL is not an option where I live, all I can do is wait and see if they get it straighted out.
People think that the record companies, and other large corporations have such power over us. If the consumers would band together and boycott companies that engage in such practices, as soon as it affected their bottom line, they would back off. WE do have the power.
The problem, as I see it now, is trying to convince people to live with a short-term inconvenience in order to create a much better long-term situation.

I guess no one has THAT much imagination.

It cost about $2800, but I would pay it again.
Cheers!

Just my 2 cents.
