No, you are not. I live in Denmark, and I am income taxed something like 56% in total. Add to that, that there is a 25% sales tax on everything.
Oh, and we are taxed 180% on top of the 25% on car sales. Thats the highest car sales tax in the world.
And a gallon of 95 octane fuel goes for $5.5 here.

I can confirm this, I have an IBM ThinkPad T22, and when I transfer large files over the NIC, a kind of buzzing sound is emitted from underneath the keyboard. It has nothing to do with the harddrive, as I can reproduce the sound with TTCP.
What on earth would they use the actual card numbers for, if the data was used for research purposes?

Well, you can pad an 'ICMP Echo Request' packet with payload = data = commands. And the same goes for 'ICMP Echo Reply'.
So you can have 1400+ bytes of data transferrede both ways.
