So if someone duplicates you.. which one is really you? what happens to your sense of continuity?
Unless you believe that consciousness is a spiritual (as opposed to physical) phenomenon, they should BOTH be exactly you. And nothing at all should happen to your sense of continuity because the process would duplicate the past experience in your brain right up to the point of duplication.
Of course this all assumes that the duplication process is absolutely perfect, which is hard to imagine;) Peace.
The Pete Rock Remix of "Shut 'Em Down" is by far their best track. Also, check the entire Fear of a Black Planet album (their best IMO). Stay in school.
No. What kinda thermal effect makes two different pressures in the same chamber of gas? Besides, the light bulb is evacuated. There's no gas to work with anyway.
The anonymous guy with the good memory of grade-school science is absolutely right. The photons are reflected off the shiny sides of the metal, and simply absorbed by the black sides. Thus, the shiny sides are "pushed" rougly twice as hard as the black sides, and the whole apparatus (which is pretty substantial compared to the photons pushing it) is accelerated.
This is the same principle applied with solar sails, the old "Star Wars" missle defense project, and any other tech using the same principle of imparting light's momentum to something else. Of course photons don't have a lot of momentum indivdually. The key is in the NUMBER of photons hitting your target. Stay in school.

....which is why you would need to eat more food (to stay at 98.6 degF). You're both right.
