    Yes, it goes with the distance squared. If you put the UWB device close enough to any antenna, it jams the receiver, on *any* frequency, and on *any* device! Thats why it is called "Ultra wide band".

    Ever wanted to know why your cell phone doesnt ring near a cell phone jammer? It is exactly the same apparatus, but UWB effects *all* frequencies, and *any* device, while the cell phone jammer only uses some few 10 Mhz.

    But it makes also sense to get Bin Laden: If you put some secret UWB close enough to his antenna or cell phone, he wont get a call either!

    UWB technology will not be approved by FCC, and will not be approved by other countries. It simply effects too much of todays communications, not only airplanes. But it is not my job to think about this serious consequences.
