The text says "has sued the university" whereas the actual article says "A student...is to sue the university" and other articles state "is planning to sue".
This seems to me that his legal action is very much in the formative stage, if it is anywhere at all. Good luck on finding a solicitor to take the case. Especially given that the university has made it perfectly clear what plagiarism is and the consequences thereof.
Most frivolous lawsuit stories are about lawsuits that where filed but never made it to court. I have a feeling this is going to be one of them.
He also made some damn good plays, that everyone ignores because of the lucky plays.
Funnily enough, most WSOP players who lasted any time have had a stroke of luck that saved them from going out early. The ones on the final table have had a lot of luck as well as solid play.
I remember seeing Peter Evans reraise all in against a big raise from Surindar Sunar. Peter Evans had 9-7 suited. Surindar flopped a straight on the river. Unfortunately it gave The Bandit a full house.
I worked in a casino in UK. They welcomed card counters, since it didn't hurt the casino, and frequently helped it. Counting cards at best helps you break even (if you are perfect you might be able to come out on top)
"that's like throwing money at a brick wall if you haven't played (and won) in a bunch of tournaments first."
Chris Moneymaker. Turned a few dollars into over a million. He'd played poker before, but nothing on the scale of winning the WSOP, let alone getting in the money (and walking away with at least $10,000)
15 years ago I played a game called Asylum, that was not multiplayer, or a shoot em up...but it *was* 1st person.
The first decent multiplater FPS was Doom. pure and simple. I lived for Wolf3D (because my computer couldn't run Doom at any decent rate) and SoD.
But why did I upgrade? To get to play Doom. (and X-wing, which was far better than Descent, which was only good if you played really cool dance music at the same time as playing).
I would just like to add, I happily played the demo of Tomb Raider, but I have never owned a full version....yech 3rd Person Shoot em ups are a down grade from 1st person, why they got popular is beyond me...are people that obsessed with seeing Lara's arse, or was it just the thrill of shooting dogs ala Wolf3d?

I wonder.
