This means that you need to have the switch be on the box you are rebooting throughout the entire reboot process, or the box will freeze with "missing keyboard" errors.

Many BIOSes provide the option of not requiring a keyboard in order to boot. Assuming your BIOS has this option, do you still get errors when the No Keyboard option is set?

I mean not to be naive but it would have been brilliant if the kidz were following him around and he happened to have telnetted in from some place unsecure?

But then it won't be brilliant. It would be human engineering (no security hole in Linux PPC exploited). No more than spying him when he types his password directly on the console.

    Minor point:

I think the original poster meant "brilliant" in the British sense, that is, a synonym for "cool" or "neat-o".

It's one thing to attempt to derail the Linux movement by posting the silly comments of a few ineloquent morons. But to disclose the email addresses of these people is an open invitation to similarly small-minded folk on the MS side of the advocacy spectrum to retaliate in kind.

Sure, the "Pekka.Honkonen"s of the world deserve to suffer some form of humiliation, but a campaign orchestrated by a "respectable" company seems horribly immature.
