And he also mentions that he has multiple degrees from several colleges. Unless he is outright lying (why would he have reason to do that now?), he seems like a very intelligent guy. Americans sometimes fall into the trap of assuming that anybody who doesn't know English must be an idiot (hell,/Americans/ don't even know English, let alone a second or third language). I lived in Turkey quite a while, and I have to tell you Turkish people are the nicest people on earth. They, and many other people of foreign countries, are very hospitable and welcoming (as opposed to your typical American New Yorker or Texan).
Turkey is a great country and has some really amazing archeological sites, and a great tourist industry.
The crime would then be impersonation of a head of state. Not computer morphing. Computer morphing/itself/ cannot be a war crime (or actual any crime of any sort...I should be able to play around with any picture so long as I'm not trying to impersonate, or hurt anything)
I am just wondering, with all the great things I've heard (and know) about linux...why would this happen? Is it simply a matter or SMP being immature? Is asynchronous IO not yet fully implemented. I'd have to say, when MS ignorantly claims that linux is based on "decades old technology", these two must be a thorn in its side. Sure, most linuxvolk probably never encounter this cieling...but is it being worked on by somebody somewhere? We can't just say every time somebody does a benchmark "Oh, well, you forgot to use the latest kernel that just came out an hour ago, along with X number of requisite patches".
In the previous password poll on slashdot I revealsed that I 'leet my passwords (password -> p4ssw0rd). This is hard to crack and easy to remember. The only thing left now, is to associate all the many passwords with the accounts they belong to. Unfortunately I do this by simply making passwords from services they are associated with (e.g., randomportal.com -> r4nd0mp0rt4l). I guess that's a weak link in my scheme...although the only way to break it would be to actually know my scheme...which I guess I've just given to every slashdotter:\
it was my impression that this was a voice-to-voice system, so you must speak into it. If you spoke ghoti (and didn't say it "fish") then it would probably think "goatee". Of course if it is text-to-voice, then ghoti would be a screwball;)
That doesn't exactly hold. Replace my use of "speed" with "transistors" or "density", and it is still the same. Every 18-24 months density/transistors/speed may double in chips/on average/, but at the same time there are very expensive ones with higher densities/whatever that are faster, and very cheap ones with lower densities/whatever, so to remove the money factor is not fair. At any point in time, regardless of moore's law, anyone can build a faster machine simply by throwing more money, more resources at it. So it is not fair to compare machines like this. They should be normalized to density or performance per dollar (or any given monetary unit).
In the case this is referring to my post, I'll copy what I posted elsewhere:
Yes it was submitted, and YES it was a STUPID question. It was meant to be. It was moderated funny. I had no idea it would actually be/sent/, and was surprised when it showed up. Apparently/somebody/ wanted to send it...and now I'm the one with egg on my face because of the many stupid/funny/satirical questions this one was chosen. Oh well...I guess I should've checked the little "Don't give +1 bonus" box...I almost returned and reposted "Moderate this down" because I knew it was stupid...

According to Operating Systems Concepts (by Addison-Wesley) :
What is an Operating System? A program that acts as an intermediary between a user of a computer and the computer hardware. Operating system goals: - Execute user programs and make solving user problems easier. - Make the computer system convenient to use. Use the computer hardware in an efficient manner.
In general there are two definitions:
1) an OS is what makes the hardware useable 2) the OS is the environment and API in which programs are able to run
In practice it is typically both (although different components do different things within).
Well if his name is "Linus", not "LIEnus", and the OS was named after him, I'd assume it would be called "Linux", not "LIEnux". In the US, Linus, the name, is pronounces "LIEnus" (see Peanuts cartoons), so perhaps us Americans are all confused and insist on calling is LIEnux. I say Linux. To do otherwise would be/uncivilized/;)

How about Greed (aka Ego in the free software world) or maybe "Who wants to be a millionaire" (aka "Who wants to be broke on a diet of pizza and coke")
Actually, I've heard the/correct/ way to say the "giga" prefix is with a soft "g", like "jigga". Dr. Emmett Brown from Back To The Future corroborates this.
what is with til-dah...I thought it was til-dAy, as in the french e with an accent ague. I say cache "cash" because saying cashay sounds dumb to me, but if you're going to say cashay, you might as well say tilday
"...as I was the improbability that some woman would see that page and contact him to go stay with him in Turkey."
Well, actually many women from all over flooded him with requests.
I read his response.

Wouldn't PicoBSD fit in here pretty well? PicoBSD can run a pretty feature-filled system from a floppy.

Also, I've heard PanaFlow fans are really quiet and nice. Check em out in section M of the catalogue at http://www.digikey.com

Wow.
oops...everything including and after the line starting with "In general..." is my comment, not the book's...

hmm...I always thought tilde was pronounced til-dAy
like an e with an accent ague
Hmm...so...Microsoft has
1) the desktop client
2) the server
3) the proprietary protocols
4) the physical stores
that doesn't sound a like a recipe for choice to me...
Ghoti only works when spelled...if you /say/ it (goti), the translator will probably think you mean goatee.
