    5. Fuck you, plebs

I guess that's why the current regime needs a repressive police state to maintain its grip on power.

  13. Well bro, Obama could have chosen not to do the bailout, and just let the big banks fail. He was President.

Clinton's economic policies gutted what was left of the American industrial base.

It's tempting to speculate whether B. Clinton was a paid agent of the Chinese government, since he certainly did a magnificent job of advancing PRC interests at the expense of the American people.

But really, he *probably* wasn't literally a traitor. He was just a vile capitalist stooge who held working and middle class people in contempt, and was happy to throw them under the bus in order to enrich himself and his buddies.

  18. GDP itself is a complex, controversial statistic. I would be more interested in seeing the historical budget numbers represented as ounces of gold. I.e. divide the budget for a year by the average price of gold for that year.

Sure there will be some noise from fluctuations in commodity supply and demand. But it's one of the least complicated, least politicized ways to compare values of money over time.

Slashdot had a far more sophisticated and robust moderation system and rather less censorship than most other news-related forums. I suspect information warriors from many different organizations use it as an R&D battleground.
