Disagree. "food is inherintly (sic) scarce" not true at all. Food is all around you, sunlight for photosynthesis, plants outside, sulphur for chemical release of energy. It's just that the "food" that you need (steak, potatoes and broccoli) is scarcer than going out to chew on the bark of a tree.
Similarly I'm sure I could find information on knitting, stamp collecting or some other esoteric subject. I just don't want to.
So where food satisifies a need, so information satisifies a need. information = food Think animal behaviour, ecology and society and it works.
