I though ADA was the mandated language for such applications? C seems far too insecure a language to replace the rigour of what is essentially a dialect of Algol.
I could see Oxfam (and the other charities who had their ads substituted) getting their lawyers to shakedown BT for a substantial "donation" as an alternative to being sued.
In the short term there is no long term... and, to quote Keynes, "In the long term we are all dead".

Very simple - workable real handwriting recognition. Not the funny shorthand-type symbols you use on the tiny screen of the Palm. They have this and then hide it away on the disk of optional software.
