You claim to give advice to people on writing successful commercial software for lots of people and don't even take into account fundamental i18n concepts (ie not all chars are single byte chars). I think i'll take your advice with a huge block of salt.
I agree with the points on IE and further thought that breaking up MS into several companies, in particular one that had its internet products (IE, IIS) as its basis. And basically tell them, 'ok MS be profitable by giving away your browser and web server'. Let them use their supposed marketing savvy (which is utter bullsh*t) to turn that one around.
