After installing XFree 4.0 XF86Config began to give segfaults everytime I ran it with a long list of errors pertaining to Trident cards.
I was told that the XFree project temporarily stopped updating XF86Config with the newer versions 4.x, perhaps this is what was causing the problem?
If so, I'm not too happy w/ whoever made the decision at the Trident company as XF86Config was by far the quickest way to update X configuration and all though I'm pleased in general with XFree 4.0, I really wish I had my XF86Config back.
