Yes, and in the UK, outside of the urban/suburban areas the mobile and wired internet are both atrocious. The Akamai study is not going to include people with *no* working mobile internet so should be taken with a pinch of salt

  2. Difficult terrain on DARPA's Atlas Walking Over Randomness · · Score: 1

Difficult for a human to walk over those objects. A human would look down at the ground, and position their feet between the obstacles, or just walk around them. My wife would probably clear the stuff off the floor.

I'm sure if I attemped to blindly walk across the bits of wood, rope and pebbles, I would probably trip over too.

BeOS was a good looking interface - for its time. Now it (and by extension Haiku) looks rather dated by comparison with modern GUIs (especially when you look at the lovely looking things that Apple, or google with its Android project buttery loveliness create.

  10. 4th Amendment rules don't apply - Double Standards on Russian Agency Charges FBI Agent With Hacking · · Score: 1

Doesn't it strike anyone else as worrying that whenever the USA acts in a questionable way, it justifies itself by stating that its Constitution doesn't apply to non-US citizens or outside of the United States? If the USA truly believed in its Constitution, it would apply the relevant rights that it gives to all people, regardless whether they are US citizens or not.

It shows that the people in power in the USA do not believe in their own constitution, as they are always trying to sidestep its clauses.
