It may not have been hacked, but while you were sleeping Microsoft sucked all the content off your hard drive. Oops, I mean, they updated your OS for you.

  2. Re:15 years? on Trustworthy Computing At One Year · · Score: 2, Interesting

    Well, consider:

The first version of Windows came out somewhere in the mid to late 80's (can't remember exactly when). It took them from then to now, about 15 years, to finally make a halfway decent version.

So, 15 years for them to get the trustworthy part right? Sounds like a pretty good estimate to me.

  3. Re:Not with my source codes! on Open Source Code And War · · Score: 2, Insightful

That is all very well and good. You can probably add whatever clauses you want to a licence. But how well would that actually hold water once the lawyers got involved?

If you really want to retain that sort of control over the source, then you probably have to close the source.

  4. It works both ways on Lego and the IP Conundrum · · Score: 2

Lego has shown extraordinary tolerence in dealing with the hackers. Perhaps its time for people to realize it works both ways. By naming his os LegOS, Nego is clearly just trying to tweak Lego. Come on. He could be a little more reasonable and change the name, rather then trying to poke the tiger in a way that is only going to lead to confrontation.
