The subtitle "Marc Fleury has taken JBoss to the top, but he has alienated many along the way" rings true. JBoss threaten a lawsuit against the Apache Geronimo project for "code similarities". This alienated a lot of open source enthusiasts.
Here is the slashdot article about the claims of code similarities http://apache.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/11/10 /2057218.
Firstly, Bush won Florida by 381,000 votes in 2004. This was not the 2000 presidential election, which was very close.
Secondly, most of the 100,000 errors logged were instances of cards getting stuck (70,000 errors). This error is caused for four reasons according to Sequoia Voting Systems.
A voter does not push the card all the way in so it comes back out
A voter inserts the card again after having already used it to vote once...
A voter inserts the card backwards
The card actually gets stuck in the machine (not typical)
So most of these cases would not effect the vote. The only case that effected voting would be a card stuck in the machine. If the card actually got stuck in the machine, the person voting would most likely have reported this to a poll worker. Even if the person voting did not report the stuck card, I doubt the machine would still work with a card stuck in it. So it would have come to the attention of the poll workers, that the machine was not working. Seems like this would have been reported somewhere. So how many cards actually got stuck in the machine?
If they are going to charge you for the milage shouldn't they also take into account the size of vehicle being driven. A huge SUV will cause much more wear and tear on the road than a mini.
Actually the headline is a little inflamatory. The way the headline is worded "Bush Supreme Court Nominee Former Microsoft Lawyer" would lead one to believe that she was a full time Microsoft employee. I am sure that Microsoft has in house counsel and this would be the proper way to refer to in house counsel. The most accurate way to refer to her work for Microsoft would be "Bush Supreme Court Nominee represented Microsoft". The headline pushes the boundries of what you could say without being false. On the other hand I probably would not have clicked on that headline.
Okay, so Patricia Williams President and CEO of Omega Technologies is a republican supporter. Are you saying that this makes her a criminal willing to commit voter fraud? I think this is a huge leap. First she would have to decide that democracy is ridiculous and the people should not pick their leader, that the leader should be chosen for the people. Secondly, she would have to decide to risk going to jail and having her business destroyed to disenfranchise soldiers that are dying for this country. Thirdly, she would have to somehow do this without any of the people who work for Omega Technologies blowing the whistle. I don't know Patricia Williams. Do you have any proof she is willing to commit the criminal acts that are being assumed she will commit?
