    If the IT department is short on cash, and long on available hours, it can be cheaper to do it to your own spec, especially considering productivity gained in the supported departments.

    This would only give carriers more bandwidth to charge the same amount for. In an age when people actually believe their kids are entitled to a cell phone with data and texting, demand is clearly there, regardless of cost.

    Parent is NOT a troll. There is this thing called personal responsibility. In this country, we seem to be migrating to both entitlement and a responsibility - free belief system. The way things worked for a great many years is that you are responsible for things you do, and not entitled to anything you have not earned. I have a family plan with 4 phones on it, and a measly 700 minutes. We don't pay for overages. We don't pay for them because we don't do them.

    Request a secondary number to ring to that phone, or pay x dollars to have a number activated and auto forwarded. You could also possibly use a low end PC running a script and magic jack to auto forward the calls to a cell.

    IPV6 will allow any properly secured device, even your TV or refrigerator to be directly accessible from most parts of the world. This will usher in a new era of programmable and remotely controllable houses and devices to automate many aspects of our lives. Imagine resetting your alarm clock, coffee maker, and thermostat settings to accommodate your plane arriving late..... while on the plane! It could be done from any web-capable laptop, phone, kiosk at the airport, or many other internet- enabled devices.

    That is a lot of name calling with zero facts. Funny thing is that Glenn Beck backs up his stuff with easily provable facts. Where are your sound arguments/facts?

    I suggest you do as many smart independent thinkers do: Watch Fox and some mainstream, and derive your news from that mix and some google scholar searches.

    It's easy to call names, and make sweeping generalizations. You have zero credibility, and your message has no weight, however.

    Banning does not solve the problem. Banning just gives the government more excuses to intrude into our privacy. You simply make a blanket "Driving while distracted" bonus penalty.

    Best solution:

    Mandatory REAL driver training. You are piloting a vehicle. Force future drivers to drive distracted on a road course. Force them to try to stop in inclement conditions, etc.

    FORCE THEM TO KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!

    It is very sad that some folks refuse to consider the MANDATORY motherboard change cost. The exceptions favor AMD, with the socket AM2 lasting for about 4 years, and 2+ lasting close to 3, when considering the MOST current CPU of the moment. Intel boards cost morer and last less time. Any top tier (parts-wise) AMD PC built in the last 3 years can move to the latest and greatest processor, by a imple CPU swap. Intel cannot even get you in the i7 GENERATION without a board.

    EXCEPT:

    The intel motherboard for those less expensive CPUs has zero forward-looking value. They are already obsoltete when you buy them now. Additionally, the memory on the board will be obsolete DDR2. Furthermore, there will be no USB3/SATA3 option.

    The AMD board will be closer to current, can have DDR3 should you choose it, and will support AMDs newest quad core/six core processors currently out.

    This is like me pointing out that a prius makes a hella good race car, because it can get over 15 laps out of a gallon of gas. A PC is a bigger picture than the CPU.

    The framers of the Constitution understood that we came from a revolt against what was viewed as an oppressive government. As such, they accepted the possibility that our own government may go awry of representing the will of the people. In such cases, there are three options, typically used in order, Soap Box discussion, Ballot Box voting, and Ammo Box reloading. That last option gives weight to the two leading up to it.

    Yes, a government that has no fear of its citizenry uprising effectively will also have no fear of abusing or misusing it's power. I am an idealist at heart, but the drive to the "ideal" is often littered with ugly realities.

    China has a larger carbon footprint than the U.S.. We are no longer the dominant industrial force, or the biggest polluter. Go look up the citations yourself. I am not taking the time to bother with dipshits that believe electric cars pollute less, or that global warming is in effect due to emissions. Electricity is currently produced largely from coal, and has losses in transmission, losses in storage, and losses due to inefficiencies.

    Who measured temperatures over 500 years ago, or is this speculation using extrapolated data? If no one actually, physically MEASURED the temperatures, and logged them, then feel free to have your statement invalidated by default. Science cannot accurately note temperatures from 500 years ago without actual measurements. Stop watching Discovery Channel. You apparently are taking postulated scenarios derived from collected data as direct observation.

    The truth is that we have absolutely no real guarantee as to what ANY of the prehistoric creatures that walked the earth looked like, or what temperature they walked in. Sure, we can postulate real close to the mark, but that is going to be it.

    The theory IS wrong. I know you want it to be correct. It isn't. We have supposedly been having some kind of catastrophic climate change for quite a while now, yet somehow nothing much has changed at all. Icebergs and frozen things melt in one area, and things freeze in others. In over 30 years of paying attention, I cannot find a shift in temperatures anywhere that is consistent globally, or falling outside of variances.

    As a parent of REAL HUMAN STUDENTS, I say oh, hell, FUCK NO, my kids aren't toting around a $500 device that can be stolen, dropped, stomped on, or otherwise damaged. WTF world do these people live in?!?!?!? I don't want it if it's $100. Spend the money on TECAHING, and quit dicking around with $400-$500 devices, and trips to fucking D.C.. Fuck this shit. We are in a recession. Yes, my language is harsh. I am going to be harsh, when I have to live beyond my means to send my kids to FUCKING PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

    More invested != usefully involved. I got treated like a terrorist when I questioned the focus of an entire MONTH on black history, plus various individually focused black days. I was trying to figure out how, with so many races and cultures, they ever made it though the school year learning math. As it turns out, only the squeaky wheel races and cultures get anything more than cursory attention...... No, they didn't consider Irish worthy of note, despite the practical enslavement of indentured servitude as it was actually played out. Turns out my kids weren't even taught about indentured servitude, or the plight of the Irish.

    Good times, in the not inclusive, inclusive public schools. My money pays for my kids to think that only blacks were oppressed.

    In the public school system, every added child is added budget. It IS that simple. School board members make obscene amounts of money for making stupidly simple decisions.....stupidly. I may be off track, and even wrong, but I seriously doubt that anywhere near 20% of all public school districts are anywhere near efficient or even learning focused. I see more and more emphasis on salaries, and budgets for extracurriculars/field trips, multicultural BULLSHIT, politically correct BULLSHIT, and sex education BULLSHIT, and less emphasis on actual learning.

    I may be wrong. I do only have 3 kids in public schools, grades 3, 7, and 9
