Saying you have the right to encryption without a backdoor is like saying you have the right to smoke. You enjoy it, but the activity hurts other people.
I do have the right to smoke, jeez...and it should never be taken away from me. How does it hurt other people? Second hand smoke. Please...the small quantities of second hand smoke inhaled in a bar, etc. are at least 4 order of magnitude less that the smoke I inhale from my cig. If you don't like the smoke, go to a non-smoking bar, etc.
If you are talking about health insurance premiums, then how about banning all fatty foods, so Americans can't plumb up and get heart disease.
