Y2K came wether or not we wanted it to. We survived because we upgraded. We need a 16/32 bit apocalypse to force the same with old software. Fortunately there's no stopping time so we had to do the Y2K thing. But we need to force the end of legacy stuff too. Apple does a better job than MS here. MS seems like they go out of their way to keep old crap running, and they're not helping the security of the planet in doing so.
Exactly, If management were the destination for all of IT, then you'd wind up with a very top heavy company with too many bosses. When that happens it's universally not good.
Apple doesn't really do arbitrary things, what they don't often do though, is explain why they do the intentional things they do. In this case, however they have. It's a matter of securing the device so that a reader which spoofs your fingerprint can be used. It's a good thing.
Woz may have been somewhat involved in the creation of the Mac, I'm pretty sure he's more accurately credited as a Founder of Apple computer, and creator of the Apple ][.
And if you treat everyone like an idiot, you'll live in a world full of idiots. People get the kind of government/work environment/customers they deserve.
Treat people with respect, and start by asuming they are intelligent. People will respond.
At first I guessed that it was because the Capitol and Whitehouse and surroundings are strict no-fly zones and an civilian aircraft couldn't get in there to take pictures.
However after actually looking at the the page the image of the White House has in fact been altered and all detail removed.
It's OK. Post the exact same story. We're used to dupes.

Sounds good, but they do in fact require an external energy source. Solar power is your best bet, but any of the solar subtitutes availble will probably work fine.
NetTransport, it's the Holy Grail of media downloading. The scheduler works well when you get past its idiosyncrasies, but all in all, it's the best tool I've found. And I've been looking for years.
Does Moore hold the copyright himself? Or does it belong to some corporation, holding company, distributor, or the Weinstein brothers? And does Moore himself have the right to grant the right to copy to P2Pers? He might? But someone should make sure.
I don't know if I would want to pay for C-SPAN, If watch it once a week, that's a lot. And probably more than most. Yet. I really like the idea that it's there shining a light on what goes on in congress. And I'm willing to pay for it as a part of my cable bill, If there's not enough like me, then it'll go away. That would be bad.
Also the cable companies need to make it easy and CHEAP to switch channels. Now you have to call them up, and it's a minimum of $5 for any changes. They should give me a package that I can choose 15 channels, and let me pick which, and change them at will.
I would be reasonable to have then force you to make only one or two changes a month. Otherwise you could effectively rig the system to let you watch all of it. Especially if there was a web interface to the selections.
I'm looking for a player that can be installed in my car, integrated with the exiting stereo in place of the CD changer, that will have WiFi, so when it's in the Garage I can schedule internet radio, and other audio to be uploaded, and old content deleted.
Who's going to be the first person to sell me one of these?

Platform interoperability. That's why.

Yep, tried it, and indeed I must agree. I thought it sucked.
http://tidy.sourceforge.net/ As I recall HTML-Tidy allows you to remove all of Words "enhancments".

Either way. You seem to have a power over them that mere mortals among us dare not dream of. And I'm only 15% sarcastic.
Thanks for getting them to do this. I've asked for things, and they don't listen to me. Can get get them to give me a job?
So what time would that be? Is the top North? Daylight Saving time? What Day of the year? Does it matter?

I was talking about MY big brother. He's always teling me to slow down. There's a book with a Big Brother in it?
The Big Brotherness of it is evil. The end doesn't justify the means.
They can be used for evil just as easily.
2 Month healing period?
I'm still not over the 2000 debacle.
I suppose Hollywood money is worth more than Hi-Tech money.

So what are you doing about it, besides posting on /.?
I have the same concerns, but I think we may have gone too far down the road to get back on the right track in our lifetime.
