Its a real nice gesture on their part and kudos to them, but I dont see this being a huge deal in the long run. I really do not see people that need to use a propeller in their product ( are there any ? ) wanting to go to a more expensive and slower FPGA ( or even a custom ASIC )..
just having access to the instruction set and block diagram of its registers does not mean its an opensource cpu.
While i doubt opening u[ the propeller really means much in the grand scheme of thins, you have *zero* clue what is going on here and should just shut your stupid mouth and stop wasting our bandwidth..
I *never* said the government was innocent, as we know it is not.. I only state that Snowden is a traitor and broke the law, and the legal process MUST be followed. Exceptions can not be made for anyone, or none of us are safe from its abuse.
I was NOT commenting on our government, or giving them a pass. Their legal transgressions is a different discussion.
I also could care less what you 'feel' as it is not relevant. Snowden broke the law, and must be held accountable for his actions. How hard is that to understand?
i agree. Regardless of ones *feelings* about what he did, the fact remains that he **broke the law** and needs to be in court. Not doing that makes a mockery of our laws.
Sentencing is where you can take into account 'intent', but not his guilt or innocence..
No its worse, as there is that we could have PPC users here.. It wasn't until snow leopard that you could guarantee x86. The only upgrade path for them requires new expensive hardware too. People running visa, for the most part, just needed to grab a copy of win7 for a few bucks ( or free ).
So now that these companies fully admit of scanning content and analyzing the results with express reasons to 'police' their users, does this mean they are now liable if they let *any* illegal content thru?
Also, today its child porn, but what about tomorrow? 'hate' discussions? hacking discussions? warez ? political dissent?
Easy answer is encrypting before you use the services, but this is a much larger issue with long term ramifications...
ok i should have said 'where can you realistically go'. verizon was a quick example. I do know its not 100% black and white ( i even have a phone that does both cmda and gsm with 2 sims, at the same time ) but realistically most people will be stuck with what they buy from their carrier and not have more capable phones
and yes they can all 'break' their network so you can only use their "approved" phones, if they want to. they just dont have/want to yet. if this goes further and they are forced to start giving out codes you watch how long it takes...
i doubt they are making much off the phones, but currently the lock-in factor helps keep you around, since most people dont buy phones outright like some of us do.
We will just see more incompatibly between networks. A lot ilke if you have an unlocked cmda phone today.. Where you going to go other than back to verizon? Each phone will end up with custom firmware, so you are stuck with that carrier.
wtf is the point?

I could be wrong...

technically what Snowden did "broke the law"
Thus why we need a trial. Quite simple really, even you should understand that.
He has more courage and character in his nail clippings than you have in your whole body
Big words from a small man that has NO clue what courage actually is, or anything about me.
So if i flip someone the bird i get a HUD targeting/fire control display?
Start with his.

Where did i say i supported the government? Why do you show up to support people that break the law and put this country at risk?

He should be living in prison. Or 6 feet under ( we still execute traitors )
( once convicted.. )
This is just payment for all the secrets he has given them we dont know about. Dragging it out this way looks less suspicious.
damned traitor.
if that is really the case, the logical conclusion is to confiscate all the citizen's computers.

For many, with their pet projects, the ends justify the means, regardless of the long term ramifications for society at large.
shhhh stop making sense. you know its not allowed around here.

there is your answer. ditch it. quick..
cant support those pesky freedoms now can we?
it was a free service. want to rely on the cloud, dont be a cheap ass and pay for a commercial account somewhere.
Next question?
In the old days here, freshmeat and sourceforge, but not post-dice. Not really seeing much point in any of them now.
You know what i meant.
