I think the real problem is the idiots buying the crap in spam. If everyone stopped falling for the scams then the spammers would either go out of business or quit because they're not making any money.
a local isp used to host lan parties, there was a small fee but it was for beer(pop for the minors) and pizza. it was great fun, and we weren't limited in the games we played. i'm gonna have to suggest this to our local school district too.
