Maybe we could rip a portion out of mozilla and attach it to links??

The ibook touchpad screwed up.
If I can't move the cursor, I won't buy it.
(most of the PC's have good trackpads now, HP now, compaq in the past and maybe now)
I can use touchpads on the PCs, not on the ibook. I care most about hardware
Cursor movement, then
Keyboard,
monitor resolution
bandwidth
effective use of screen space
2d graphics performance (quick menu responce)
(list goes on, these were the top few)
The last few are variables, depending on the programs I use.
macs have crappy mice, and keyboards... how am I supposed to use em?

with ram prices being so low...
why don't we have 128+MiB cache harddrives with thier own batteries and a bit of a processor on it that will assure the data is writen even when the rest of the computer is turned off.
they should take bids for contracts to provide a directory service for the community.
The government should ask for bids... maybe they could require a non favoring listing feature, and allow for a limited number of paid advertizing on it...
The government could pay, or be paid for this. the listing service could charge a fixed rate for service... (or proportional to the size of the business)
etc..
I don't think they should auction some of those things off...

Wouldn't it be possible to take the guts out of a nice 50x cd rom.. and replace the drive in the disk changer? Yeah it could get ugly with cut up hardware.. but it should be possible.
My guess is that the disk changer has a lame latch to hold the cd in place.. that works fine for 1 or 2x.. but not for real fast... you might be able to get by that by installing a bigger spring or something.

Microsofts new licence says you can't use it with GPLed software...
If GPL is more simple than other copyrights, Maybe some other complicated licences are based on GPL.. and then we can't use that with MS..
If we can say the GPL is more fundimental than other licences, (witch i think it is), we can't even use MS software with MS software.
(I know this post isn't a solution, but it is very close to how I vew the situation)
