TFA also states that Bill Atkinson did all the graphics for Lisa and the Macintosh - he did a lot of the graphics development (notably the UI and QuickDraw) and Susan Kare was responsible for the actual graphics.
The guy would have been prevented from copying his DVD onto video because of the Macrovision copy protection.
So if this goes ahead they will just require that any DVD player hardware sold in France does not have this copy protection system. (But the DVDs still are CSS encrypted).
The 2 streams was the approach Real used with SureStream.
Vorbis can be "peeled" - in theory you can take a single Vorbis file and produce a stream with an arbitrarily lower bitrate. This opens up cool ideas such a a streaming server that will adjust the stream to fit your connection speed.
(Windows only). Comes with the Real codecs and MediaPlayerClassic (no relation to the proper windows one - it's a very good bit of software) so you can play Real files without needing Realplayer.
That's all well and good but the search engine won't be able to link directly into a particular page of content in the Flash movie.
Sure the search engine got them to your site but if the user can't find the content they were looking for easily then they'll get frustrated and may well end up giving up on your site.
Phil and Alex's guide to web publishing makes a good point about flash - search engines won't index it (yet). So people are going to have a hard time trying to find your content online.
