This is yet another way to (atleast what I beleive) loose credability... I mean come on. if you keep clicking on what you think are news articles, and get ads, wouldn't you stop comming to that site? I would..
In my opinion, this would be suicide for atleast the news section of YAHOO. Most ads tend to be annoying, some very in your face annoying, when it starts getting to misleading, thats when companies better think of another way to get money, 'cause they are about to loose a lot of customers. I think at times Ads are a necessary evil (hell, look at the top of this page..) but when they get too annoying, or misleading (ie.. yahoo's news articles that turn out to be ads) thats usually when people just stop visiting, well.. atleast thats when I would..
...yup, these are all opinions people, nothing to see here...
(excuse the spelling errors, spell check on vacation, along with brain:)
you *DO* know there is a difference between the *first* post, and the first *smart* post right?:)
anyways, this could have numorus benifits for science. I do wonder, communication satellites, using laser transmissions could be smaller, more efficient and easier to deploy. I wonder how much this satellite runs.
Now all we need is one to automatically zoom in on thoes -1:TROLL types:)
why does a cheesy Dr. Evil line come to mind?
Mini-me, don't hump the "laser"!
Granted for business purposes I can kinda see the reason (tho dun get me wrong I use VPN-1 for work a lot..) but what about the techie's who use vpn-1 at home.. ie.. I vpn into my friends network at his house all the time, sometimes to remote admin to the gaming server, when it decides to crash, or play 'round with some other things in the network.. this definatly is *NOT* business related.. and a lot of the reason he has it setup is for learning (certifications)..
Granted not a lot of people use vpn as personal, but what about the people that do? sometimes there are non-business related things u can use vpn for.. should they be penalized too?
nahh, these are actual strobes, just slower flashing ones.. We have them here in Orlando on some of the major roads (Hwy 50 (aka Colonional) for one) they are there to let people know that they should prolly stop.. (people down here view the stop lights as suggestions..)
*sigh*
so basically, your saying ur a troll right? =)
I mean you are starting to stir up a debate, and of course it'll end up heated.. doh! guess that makes me a troll too, cause I'm putting my few pushes in the right direction:P
honestly tho, there are some good debates that turn bad.. You can't really call the one who started a well rounded debate, a troll, just because later you get people who say "I'm right and if you don't think so, then f* off"..:)
just my $0.02
