Everyone keeps talking about MS controlling C#, lets not forget that the C# language, just like java, is an ecma specification

MS Does have an exclusivity on the.Net Framework however. Though even that they've opened up (the majority at least) to open download. Though I believe you're not allowed to change that source and redistribute it.

If Google has nothing to hide then why not publish the details to their DC's, their search algorithms, payroll, etc, etc, etc? Everyone has something to hide, and it's usually not for nefarious reasons.

if you had, you'd be 99% up to speed on moving to.NET. I developed on Turbo Pascal, eventually moving to Delphi. Imagine my suprise when at my current job I was told to learn C#/.NET and I looked at it and said... "This is almost like VCL" and started repairing code within 2 weeks, and started writing code from the ground up in less than a month. Shoulda stuck with Delphi... Thats what MS did, after all look who designed C#;^)
