  1. Re:Super Soakers For The Win on Summer FPS - Lazer Tag and Super Soaker · · Score: 1

The early SS offerings were pretty pathetic. I could piss a bigger stream than those SS 50's. At the time I had one of the off-brand soakers (I don't remember which brand) that used a simple piston attached to a large tank backpack, and it was a lot less expensive too. No SS model of the time was a match for it.

This may sound like bass-ackward logic, but maybe the correct approach to encourage more of rather than oppose legislation like this. The incremental erosion of our freedoms doesn't seem to register with the general population. The changes are small and innocent looking enough that they will eventually be accepted as the status quo. However, accelerating the change the to status quo would likely result in a backlash from the populous. Imagine what would have happened if the provisions of the Real-ID had been included in the original Patriot Act. Would they have both survived if packaged together?

...or maybe my tin foil hat is on way too tight.

A few years back CogniToy came out with a really unique robot design/combat game called MindRover:The Europa Project. You would start with a simple chase (tank, car, or hovercraft) and outfit it with weapons, sensors, and propulsion. However, the real meat of the game was in the programmer's window. Each piece of equipment had to be wired together with a network of logic gates in order to get the robot to anything meaningful. If your radar sensed an enemy robot, you could signal the weapons to fire or just ram him at full speed. If the radar sensed enemy fire you could signal the motor to move in reverse and fire your own weapons to try to intercept. The smarter the bot, more complex the logic network had to be. The development capital seemed to have dried up for them as well since MindRover was their one and only product of interest.

NOOOooooo, I really liked this movie. Now you've over-analyzed and assigned meaningful thought and purpose to it. I'll never be able to view it the same way again.

I can never forgive you for that.

    DOORMAN: Some guys from Jesus?
    ORBISON: Cut off their balls!

You'd probably say a scene like that is characteristic, though a slight exaggeration, of society's common knee-jerk reaction to all forms of solicitation.

Oh, oh, now you've got me doing it.
