I am running 2.4.13 right now. I find that it doesn't swap as often as 2.4.{1-8}. The only reason I upgraded to 2.4.13 is because the swapping was unbearable. If I left my computer for supper, I would come back and the kernel would swap for a good 2 minutes before I was able to do anything.
