I started out playing around with Linux when I was a freshman in college. Word got around because it was not all that widely known of where I was at the time (Indiana University of Pennsylvania).
Someone
said that it was like a Unix, so I became 'that Unix guy' (inaccuracies aside).
Then I started looking for work after school, and I knew Linux pretty well, and Solaris and FreeBSD from
the lab in the dorm, and it just grew from there... there was a need which I could fill.
Are you a strong but slow programmer or do you just not have the patience for it?
