    The simple fact of the matter is that, if you start having whitelists for these Internet filters, you're legitimizing the filters. and are encouraging their entrenchment in libraries.

    Do what a friend of mine did. Get a domain. Then generate nice one-of mail addresses to use for all things and purposes. Should help to reduce your exposure to things like this -- lets you spread the risk around. Any address that is compromised can just be blocked out.

    You don't have to pay to mail your Member of Parliament. Just mark the letter "On Her Majesty's Service" and mail it to their office. No $0.48 needed, even for a real letter.
