I thought the most secure OS was Windows 95. With NIC support like that nobody should be able to connect to your computer.

Given a set a requirements developers can make almost anything. The problem lies when you have to change a _fundamental_ part of a project because of new "desires".
If a car was built using a fuel injected system, management wouldnt go the to makers and say "you know what we need in this version, sun powered air conditioning!". They would have to wait for next years model.
Sloppy coding is the unscientific way to point the finger. More than likely its not the code thats sloppy, its the release dates set by Marketing and Sales, feature list that are promoted before development begins, and poor testing by people more concerned about "this font isn't bold" rather than testing the core product.

Q3 is a decent game and works very easily in Linux. Its a breeze to setup.
However, the only game that I really care about is Half-Life (actually, it's Counter-Strike mod). CS is the only reason I still have a hd with Windoze on it...
