I fully agree with the previous poster ... he is confused ... this is slashdot, not kuro5hin...

discussions about moral topics are meant solely for karma whoring, and are never appreciated here.

  3. Re:first post.... on New Microsoft SQL Server Worm · · Score: -1, Troll

    Greetings again, Slashdot readers,

The above poster has been permanently banned (IP and user account), for posting anti-linux commentary. We all know that Linux is the best operating system, never has security holes, and is absolutely free from any kind of restrictions ; that's why it's the most widely used OS in the world.

This person, however, has spoken harsh negative falsehoods about our beloved OS, and has been banned accordingly. Obviously, there are no "worms" that get root on linux servers, because all linux admins are geniuses who know exactly what they're doing, unlike the dumb MCSE's that let all of their servers get rooted every time.

I ask for your help in tracking down more of these anti-linux posters. If you notice any comment not showing linux in a favorable light, please email me the link at malda@slashdot.org.

    Thanks!

    Version: X.Y.Z
    • X: Major version number. Currently 2.
    • Y: Minor version number. Currently 4.
    • Z: Minor version revision number. Currently 15.

    • Stability: If Minor version mod 2 == 0 then the release is deemed STABLE.

Else Minor version mod 2 == 1 then the release is deemed TESTING / DEVEOPMENT.

Note that the minor version revision number is NOT INVOLVED.

Thus, 2.4.x is STABLE, regardless of X. Or at least that's how the theory works, it seems it isnt quite the same in reality.

    Greetings Readers,

The above poster, Reikk, has been permanently banned. Slashdot exists to promote linux and open source software, and the pro-windows comments will not be tolerated.

I appreciate your support for this website, and ask for your help in helping it adhere to its mission statement: Linux is good, Windows is bad. Please email me (malda@slashdot.org) in the event you see any more pro-windows or pro-microsoft messages, and I will respond by issuing bans (account, IP, and subnet) accordingly.

    Thank you,
    CmdrTaco

Slashdot will not tolerate scripted abuse. That kind of script is exactly what killed kuro5hin yesterday.
