    The Internationale

Arise ye workers from your slumbers
    Arise ye prisoners of want
For reason in revolt now thunders
And at last ends the age of cant.
    Away with all your superstitions
    Servile masses arise, arise
We'll change henceforth the old tradition
And spurn the dust to win the prize.

    Chorus

    So comrades, come rally
And the last fight let us face
The Internationale unites the human race.
    So comrades, come rally
And the last fight let us face
The Internationale unites the human race.

    No more deluded by reaction
On tyrants only we'll make war
The soldiers too will take strike action
They'll break ranks and fight no more
And if those cannibals keep trying
To sacrifice us to their pride
They soon shall hear the bullets flying
We'll shoot the generals on our own side.
No saviour from on high delivers
No faith have we in prince or peer
Our own right hand the chains must shiver
Chains of hatred, greed and fear
E'er the thieves will out with their booty
And give to all a happier lot.
Each at the forge must do their duty
And we'll strike while the iron is hot.

You really are a moron. How, exactly, does allowing the government to propose a regulation stop you from using your own solutions? Do you actually LIKE spam?

You are one of those people who hate regulation for no good reason. I've yet to hear you explain why spam is good for anybody. Here's a clue: some regulation is good. Are you happier that your cars are safe? Well, before Nader's Raiders lobbied for the regulations enforcing it, consumers were free to buy crappy unsafe cars. And they didn't find out that they were dangerous until they were DEAD. So much for the free market. SOMETIMES THE FREE MARKET IS TOO SLOW TO SAVE A LIFE. And you talk about "the speed of big government."

You can spout the empty slogans, but you have no idea what they mean. You're probably a 13 year old poseur, so it isn't worth getting angry, but you really are a boy without a clue. I hope someone beats you up so you realize the benefits of law and order. Corporate bullies should be treated just like the bullies in the schoolyard.

  19. A good description of the Cato Institute on Tech Legislation: The Digital Dirty Dozen · · Score: -1
    from this website:http://world.std.com/~mhuben/cato.html

A "libertarian" quasi-academic think-tank which acts as a mouthpiece for the globalism, corporatism, and neoliberalism of its corporate and conservative funders. Cato is an astroturf organization: there is no significant participation by the tiny libertarian minority. They do not fund it or affect its goals. It is a creature of corporations and foundations.

The major purpose of the Cato Institute is to provide propaganda and soundbites for conservative and libertarian politicians and journalists that is conveniently free of reference to funders such as tobacco, fossil fuel, investment, media, medical, and other regulated industries.

Cato is one of the most blatant examples of "simulated rationality", as described in Phil Agre's The Crisis of Public Reason. Arguments need only be plausibly rational to an uninformed listener. Only a tiny percentage will notice that they are being mislead. That's all that's needed to manage public opinion.
