I liken this to wearing a suit. It has absolutely no effect on what you know or don't know, but it definately affects other people's perception of your abilities. The rebuttal was well intended, but poorly delivered.
Would you rather they had to find a button labled "Start" to Quit? The mind needed some tangeble way to "transport" itself back to reality. Otherwise the shock could be too much.
I find myself inclined to agree with the author. The Matrix was superior to E1PM, but then again, I honestly think The Matrix is in the top 5 all time. I can't really quantify or qualify that statement, but very few movies have stirred in me the reaction that The Matrix did.
