i 'd seen a video from doom3, where you can see the new partikel effects (the video was on an magazine dvd), and it lokks very realistic, fire is to see and it is amazing, better when the partikel effects i'd seen from unreal 2 pictures.
from unreal2 i'd seen the fog effekt, when bullits hit steam, and the steam "separate" around the bullit, looks very good and realistic
hello mr carmack,
make you things or effects with your new engine, wich will do not activate on boards like g3 or readon 8500?
in an older interview you talk about your trinity engine about things you cannot make in realtime, such level morphing , you talk about voxel engines (volumes) and about the hardware evolution, that the trinity engine cannot accelerate with the current graphic hardware at the time . any changes with the current hardware like g3, readon 8500 or the future hardware. will we see trinity engine or is this plan dead, because the hardware goes in another direction? e.g. voxel cannot accelerate by dx8 feature set i mean.
happy new year,
Holger Tesch
ps: sorry my english, i come from germany
