I've had tabbed browsing for a while now in Safari. I almost never use it, simply because I can't see any real difference between using a series of tabs and a series of windows to show multiple pages at a time.
Would someone please try to explain what's the difference, and what's the big deal?

This is on Gentoo Linux with the bind-tools-9.2.2 package installed.
Yeah, and I could just aim my rocket launcher across the street. I'll never buy another Ford product again after the way they screwed me the last time.
All of the Slashdot kiddies that had such fun at my expense a year ago will get another chance, in person: I'll be there, with costume. I'll even be doing a panel (tentatively scheduled for Sunday at 1 PM) on what the last year has been like for me.
Read the Groklaw article carefully. The case was settled, and the judge did not rule on the GPL's validity; indeed, the lawyer for the wining side claimed that the GPL won, even though he said that the judge only issued one ruling in the case, and that was to allow the plaintiffs to take the deposition on a third party.
The GPL has persuasive value, but it has not yet been upheld - and, unlike the "free software" zealots, I am in some doubt as to whether it will be when it finally gets to a test.
It gets better...Vaughn told me the story, and said that, when he went to Van Dyke's place for some tutoring, he expected to get asked some basic questions - and was pleasantly surprised to find that he was quite good at using the software and making animations already, and just needed help with advanced techniques.
Apparently, Van Dyke uses it to make home movies. Must be nice.
You weren't paying attention, were you? The scoring is original (done by Sound-o-Rama specifically for this project), the voice acting is original for this project, and the scripting is original for this project.
The school worked with the designers of the LEGO-style blocks (I was told they were LEGO-compatible, but I'll take a previous poster's word that they're not), and it wouldn't surprise me at all to hear that WB decided they liked it and decided to leave them alone.
William "Proton" Vaughn is, in addition to an instructor at the DAVE School, the official Lightwave Evangelist for Newtek. As such, he's been to Dick Van Dyke's house to teach him the finer points of using Lightwave, and became friends with him. He asked Van Dyke if he'd be interested in doing the project, and got an enthusiastic "yes!". After that, they just asked the other actors if they'd be interested, and they all signed on.
The stars were recruited for the project, and the voices were all done specifically for it. Mark Hamill was, as I understand it, quite pleased to finally do the Joker opposite Adam West. I'm told the actors all had a good time. Adam West certainly left his usual toothmarks all over the (virtual) scenery...
Sometimes, science will be politically incorrect. That does not mean that it should not be pursued.

That system is not an x86 or compatible. What do I care if some script kiddie gets some x86 code onto the box?
1) I guess I did.
2) Because it was a terminal window I had handy that wasn't doing anything else. No, I don't walk away from this box without locking the screen.

I have been ever since about two weeks after the con...See my LiveJournal entry on the subject for why I didn't at first, and why I do now.
Not a chance.
...that is, if you're secure in your convictions...
Turn it into a feature: Go and tell him what a dirty rotten no-goodnik he is.
That's me.
Rob Landley's girlfriend/fiancee will be surprised to hear that.
Keep your eye out for Linucon, which will be in October (date not quite firmed up yet) in Austin. It's the same kind of con, launched by the same guy.
Later that year the hotel was converted into a senior citizen home
Appropriate...the hotel itself was elderly, and showed it.

I asked the school's owner about that. He said that the font they used for the titles showed that as a lower-case Y.

I'll have to look at VLC. MPlayer X has been a big disappointment; it plays some stuff, but it blows up badly on others.
What, you haven't been following the exploits of Tron Guy? :-)
QuickTime is an industry standard. DivX isn't. I still have major problems playing DivXs on OS X.
I dunno...I rather liked Thorne-Smith's Catwoman. "I didn't know you liked to play rough..." Van Dyke's Commissioner hit just the right note, too.

Your paranoid ravings are just that.
Good question...but, were I to hazard a guess, I'd say they were just so they could claim that.
Done. I got connections from 25 peers within 10 seconds of starting it, too...
