Texas is also a powerhouse in the textbook industry because it is a large consumer. It has historically and consistently made requirements about limiting/eliminating evolution and other 'taboo' subjects from it's biology textbooks. Rarely do textbook companies create a Texas-only version, rather, they subject everyone else to these pseudo-scientific abominations.
