NK is a much different situation, for one we have (last I checked) China on our side. NK likes China, China is a huge economic influence for them, so NK isn't going to do anything to piss off China. Futhermore, NK has been shown time and again to be a paper tiger. Also, you deal with Nuclear powers much differently than you do with non nuclear powers, unless you think a land invasion of a place threatening to blow "the entire west coast of America off the face of the map" is a bright idea.
What about Somalia? We tried that remember? We got the shit kicked out of our forces that we sent, and Clinton gave up. Futhermore, don't you think our forces have enough on their hands currently?
As for Saudi Arabia, perhaps you haven't noticed, but we are on relatively good terms with Saudi Arabia, and have been for a while, you don't beat up your friends untill you've defeated your enemies.
You realize the reason we don't have as stong a force in Afganistan is because Afganistan is under control of the UN right? You know, that giant multinational group that everyone says does a better job than us at this stuff. Blame for issues in Afganistan fall squarely on the UN. Furthermore, while the US may not have it's full force in Afganistan, we have much more help there.
Despite the claims that poor black people were denied the right to vote and despite an offered cash reward, not a single person has come forward to testify in court that they were denied the right to vote.
So what happenes if you wear no name jeans, whatever T-Shirts you can get for free, own a home built PC, a used blazer and shoes from payless, and still own an Apple computer and an iPod? Does that mean you've surendered to the power of the logo?
BTW I certainly hope you don't own anything brand name. Your processor better not be AMD or Intel. And your monitor better not be made by any company us konformists have heard of. And of course you own a Daewoo car right? And you don't buy gas except from mom and pop stations. And all your food is generic brand right?
Exactly, breaking standards. When a program puts print under the Tools menu, that's a problem. When common buttons don't perform as expected, that's breaking standards. When a program doesn't flow comfortably like the industry standard, that's breaking standards.
Actualy, usualy the complaints about unuseable OSS interfaces comes from when they break standards, not when they don't copy item for item another piece of software.
I know what iPhoto looks like, I own a mac thankyou. And yes they do look similar in design, in layout. However, you'll notice that it seems the designers were very careful to avoid taking any mac elements, and that's usualy what draws Apple's ire these days. The fact is, there's only so many ways you can logicaly lay out an online photo album. And yes, there has been software before iPhoto that used the same layout. But that's probabyl not the reason Apple did it. Apple did it that way because it resembles the iTunes layout. Consistant behavior across integrated apps and all that. These guys did it because it works. And probably with inspiration from iPhoto, but not enough that I would say they're ripping it off.
I don't know, it seems to me like these are different enough to not get hit with lawsuits. At least the music one, i don't know about the photo one. I mean the layouts are similar, but that's to be expected
Yeah and WTF is with these stories about the linux kernel beign updated? Or new processors from Intel? And really, does anyoen give a shit that the government gratned another shitty patent?
Not for a while. Of course, I don't speak from authority but here's how I figure. Thre's another update due sometime around Nov I'd say. This update should bring the iBooks up to speed with current powerbooks. I would say that would be the absolute earliest that you will see a G5 notebook, but I would bet we wont see anything new until the next update after that, which would be roughly this time next year.
Eh, I wouldn't consider it a troll either, maybe flamebait, but not so much flames driected at you, so much as trying to entice a pointless arguemnt among other users. I guess maybe you could call that a troll, but as far as ofenses go this is hardly the worst.
Apple wouldn't need to write software if the developers would actualy, you know, develop, as opposed to letting products die *cough* premeire *cough*. If no one is going to write software for Apple, Apple will write the software themselves.
Unfortunately windows still routinely gives it's users problems (see my sig for the beginings of an example). Sure windows is improving, and I wouldn't go back from XP for any reason, but it's still a worthy target for criticisms about instability.
Indeed they were our Ally, kind of like how the UK was our enemy at one point in history, sam with Russia. Aliances change.

I love the double standard. NASA can use it, but the military/government can't.

Out of curiosity, if you're using extreme do you have "interface Robustness" turned on? It seems to me that that decreases the range considerably.
In Russia, the spam relays
er nevermind

It would be rather difficult for apple to clone X Window when it wasn't even around before 1984

That and both FCP and Shake are developed from aquired technologies, and were not written from the ground up with a one button mouse design.
One button mouse problem solved and more, look iup Side Track

Hmm, I don't see any 1.5 Ghz G4s on that page, perhaps you would like to find benches of 1.5s?
And you have Intel and .... AMD?
And we have Motorola and IBM.
Yeah, huge choice difference there.
Yeah, real dumb idea. Look at how Apple has suffered from lack of ADB and localtalk ports.
Look how many PC users are suffering from lack of ISA, and their lack of printer ports.
And before the iMac, there were probably less than 10 companies producing USB products. It's all about pushing people forward into the new world.
Control like that is only really a bad thing if the person in control is making bad decisions and abusing their position.
